The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed the ways to activate the interstate dialogue and other important issues today during the online meeting.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the ministers continued the telephone conversation between leaders of the two countries – Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a day before.
During the conversation, the Presidents agreed to give instructions to their foreign ministries to further develop partnership, strengthen their transport and transit, trade and economic components, and intensify cooperation in other relevant areas. During this online meeting, the Ministers outlined new vectors for realization of mutual potential taking into account the conditions and trends of the modern world order. The diplomats emphasized the importance of combining efforts to counter the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking into account the experience and practice of cooperation.
The heads of diplomatic departments of the countries also discussed a wide range of issues in the political, diplomatic, trade and economic fields at the regional and global levels. The parties attached great importance to the gradual establishment of "green corridors" for cargo and goods in accordance with the requirements of sanitary and phytosanitary control at the borders.
They stressed the importance of regular talks at various levels between the two countries and the active resumption of bilateral meetings of delegations from the public and private sectors in the online mode.
