Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Trade Complex and Textile Industry Batyr Atdayev held a meeting with a delegation of Azerbaijan headed by the country's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov in Ashgabat on Wednesday. During the meeting, the sides considered matters of development of cooperation between business circles of the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan reports.
During the conversation, Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission Batyr Atdayev and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov discussed the organisation of the forthcoming meeting of the Commission, the development of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries and the possibilities of increasing trade volumes between the two countries.
Mikayil Jabbarov also met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the two parties noted the dynamic nature of development of mutually beneficial bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. In this context, a detailed exchange of views was held on further development of cooperation in such areas as trade and economy, energy, oil and gas, transport and transit and agricultural spheres.
Mikayil Jabbarov also met with the Chairman of the State Concern "Türkmengaz" (Turkmen Gas) Maksat Babayev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov to discuss the expansion of cooperation in the energy sector.
