President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov in Ashgabat on Wednesday, the official Turkmen media reports.
The head of state expressed confidence that the meetings and negotiations to be held during the current visit would make a significant contribution to the development of economic ties between the two countries.
"Our countries successfully cooperate within the framework of regional and international organisations, and first of all within the UN. In the course of this interaction, we provide mutual support to initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and ensuring universal security," Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate dialogue, which is based on the principles of equality, trust and mutual understanding.
Additionally, on Wednesday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, Gismat Fuzuli oglu Gozalov, who presented his credentials to the Head of State.
