During the meeting, the participants discussed vital aspects related to accelerating the signing of an agreement on developing an international transport corridor: "China - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran - Turkey - Europe".

The meeting, organised at the initiative of the Uzbek Transport Ministry, also focused on matters related to the development of international transport and transit routes between the countries, the Uzbek Transport Ministry said on Wednesday.

The participants noted that the development of an internationally relevant transport corridor will be beneficial for all parties and will open new opportunities.

This cooperation aims to develop trade in the region, increase the volume of international freight traffic transit traffic, and increase revenues from them. Within the framework of the discussed areas of cooperation, the parties defined the tasks for the future.

The railway route spanning over 4,500 kilometres, known as the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey corridor, was the shortest and most convenient route for Uzbekistan's export-import operations with Turkey.
