Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the Turkish Ministry of Trade conducted a trilateral meeting via video link on Thursday. During the meeting, the parties discussed exchanging information on goods and vehicles, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan reports.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan initiated the organisation of this meeting to implement the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on the Establishment of the Joint Consultative Commission on Customs Cooperation.

During the meeting held on December 14, 2022, the participants discussed and outlined the tasks and objectives necessary for the practical implementation of the Agreement. The Agreement aims to facilitate faster and simplified customs procedures by exchanging information on transit goods in Turkmenbashi.

Furthermore, the parties have agreed to promptly exchange information regarding the members of the joint advisory group. They have also finalised the details regarding the location and schedule for the inaugural meeting of the Joint Committee.
