In August 2018, the office of the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul was opened in the city of Antalya in Turkey.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov arrived in Bishkek from Qingdao, China, on June 10, where he attended the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. As a result of the summit, a number of joint documents were signed, including the Qingdao Declaration.

A number of high-level foreign policy events will be held in the near future in Kyrgyzstan, Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erlan Abdyldaev told reporters at Kabar Agency.

He said that foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries are expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan in summer and heads of state of the Turkic-speaking countries will visit the country in the fall.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev took part in the International Conference "Counteraction to Terrorism and Prevention of Violent Extremism" in Dushanbe, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted an agreement for ratification to the State Duma between the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan on development of military-technical cooperation. Information about this was published in the electronic database of the lower house of parliament.

"We are grateful to International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) for the announcement of 2018 as the Year of the outstanding writer, the son of the Kyrgyz people Chyngyz Aitmatov," Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said today during a meeting with Secretary General of the TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov.
