On January 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Chairman of Fortesque Future Industries Andrew Forest in Davos.

According to Vesti.az, it was noted at the meeting that the memorandum signed last month between the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and Fortesque Future Industries provides for the implementation of a project to produce 12,000 megawatts of wind and solar energy in Azerbaijan. At the same time, the importance of signing the "Agreement on Strategic Partnership in the Field of development and transfer of Green Energy between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary" in Bucharest was stressed. The importance of supplying green energy produced in Azerbaijan to the European market in the future within the framework of this project was noted.

During the conversation, the importance of cooperation in the implementation of a hydrogen production project in Azerbaijan, including green hydrogen, was also stressed.

It was noted that the memoranda of understanding and agreements signed by Azerbaijan with international energy companies will allow the country to produce up to 22 thousand megawatts of wind and solar energy. It is envisaged that SOCAR and Fortesque Future Industries will produce part of this energy in the amount of 12 thousand megawatts.

During the conversation, the favorable investment environment in Azerbaijan was discussed. It was stressed at the meeting that Azerbaijan has a rich potential for renewable energy, and an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation took place.
