Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have agreed to expand cooperation in the production of motor vehicles.
"A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones, the Association of Manufacturers of Machinery and Equipment and UzAvtoSanoat JSC of Uzbekistan to expand the production of motor vehicles in Azerbaijan," Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov tweeted on Monday.
According to him, the implementation of the document will contribute to the development of mechanical engineering in Azerbaijan. The document was signed following a meeting between Jabbarov and the head of JSC "UzAvtoSanoat" Ulukbek Rozukulov.
During the meeting, issues of the development of auto production in Azerbaijan and the export of cars produced in the country to third countries were discussed. It is also stated that a joint automotive factory will be built in the Hajikabul Industrial Zone of Azerbaijan.
