Azerbaijan achieving a clean environment and "green growth" by 2030, Garabagh, Eastern Zangazur and Nakhchivan developing as green energy zones, Azerbaijan’s strategy that aims to become a supplier of green energy strategy encourages the development of Azerbaijan- Türkiye energy cooperation in this new direction, said Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan during the panel speech of Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye, APA reports.
"Cooperation with international energy companies on green energy projects is being carried out in Nakhchivan, with the main focus on exporting the produced energy to Türkiye. All this coincides with the provisions of the State Programme for the Development of Nakhchivan for the next four years, approved by the President of Azerbaijan, which envisages cooperating with Türkiye on issues such as increasing the production and exporting electricity based on green sources," the minister added.
Parviz Shahbazov also noted that establishment of Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe energy corridor is one of the main priorities in accordance with the strategic goal of exporting more than 1000 MW of energy from Nakhchivan to Türkiye and Europe.
