The investment project, accompanied by Almaty Business Development Company LLP, will be realized on the territory of the Special Economic Zone “Park of Innovative Technologies”, where a land plot of more than 2 hectares has been allocated for the construction of the plant, providing a convenient logistical location for the supply of raw materials and shipment of finished products to potential customers in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, the press service of the city akimat reports.
The enterprise with an area of about 2.5 thousand square meters will produce up to 250,000 solar modules annually. The capacity of one module will be from 585 W. The products will be manufactured under the brand TGS-Solar.
The solar module plant with an annual capacity of 150 MW will be equipped with modern equipment, including automatic solar module assembly lines, laser plasma cutters, and automatic welding machines. The plant will become an additional stimulus for the development of the city's economy, create more than 100 jobs, and form a chain of Kazakhstani manufacturers of components and materials.
Currently, the share of renewable energy in Kazakhstan is 5.8%, by 2035 it is planned to increase to 16%. The project is aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy sources (RES) in electricity generation. The construction of the plant meets the objectives set by the head of state to develop energy engineering and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
