The 2nd Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum, arranged in the town of Guba on May 21, featured exploring the economic potential of the regions of the two countries and opportunities for developing partnerships, as well as signing of bilateral documents.


On 21 May, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov. Laziz Kudratov conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome.


Azerbaijan and Türkiye signed an agreement on natural gas cooperation, Report informs. “The agreement signed today contributes to the delivery of Azerbaijan's energy resources, primarily natural gas to Türkiye, to European markets through Türkiye, as well as to the supply of resources in Central Asia to the Turkish market and from there to the world market through Azerbaijan,” Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at the signing ceremony of the "Türkiye-Azerbaijan natural gas cooperation agreement" held in Istanbul today.


At the 4th meeting of the Council of Bank Associations of Turkic-Speaking States in Tashkent, hosted by the Uzbekistan Banks Association, Zakir Nuriyev, Vice-President of the Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highlighted the pivotal role of joint efforts among Turkish banking communities in fortifying economic ties between nations, Azernews reports.


“Today, an amendment to the agreement was signed to increase the authorized capital of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund by 4 times - from 25 million to 100 million US dollars,” said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his statement to the media, commenting on the results of negotiations with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in the city of Baku.


The number of Azerbaijani enterprises operating in Kazakhstan by April 2024 increased by 19% compared to the same period last year, Report informs referring to the National Bureau of Statistics.


Azerbaijan has invested $1 billion 815.1 million in the Turkish economy in 2023. Report reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) that this is 7.3 times more than in 2022.

SOCAR to implement new investment projects in Türkiye's petrochemical sector The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to implement new investment projects in the petrochemical sector of Türkiye, said Elchin Ibadov, CEO of SOCAR Türkiye Energy, SOCAR's subsidiary in the country, Report informs citing the Turkish press.


Azerbaijan exported 3 billion 953 million 658.45 thousand cubic meters of natural gas worth 1 billion 459 million 774.04 thousand US dollars in January-February this year.
