The first months of the year an important industrial city from Bursa in Turkey to 152 countries and free trade zone with the autonomous region of 1 billion 174 million 755 thousand dollars of exports were realised.

A correspondent of Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), according to information compiled from the data, Bursa's export foreign sales showed in January, which ranked 3rd after Istanbul and Kocaeli in exports, increased.

In the city where giant companies such as OYAK Renault, TOFAŞ, Bosch and Karsan operate, the automotive industry took the lead in exports. The exports of the automotive sector last month increased from $ 573 million to $ 619.2 million, up 8.07 percent compared to the same month of 2019.

After the automotive sector, the highest export was made by the ready-made clothing and confection sector. Exporters operating in this sector signed 137 million 242 thousand dollars in January. An increase of 5.39 percent was recorded in the export of the ready-made clothing and confection sector.

The exports of the textile and raw materials sector, which ranks third in exports, increased by 8.67 percent last month, from 87 million 526 thousand dollars to 95 million 113 thousand dollars.

From Bursa, "Steel", "cement, glass, ceramic and earth products", "ferrous and non-ferrous metals", "air conditioning industry", "fruit and vegetable products", "carpet", "leather and leather products" and "furniture, paper and forestry " sector exports increased compared to January last year.

Exports from the city to 152 countries, autonomous region and free zone in the first month of the year increased by 5.95 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 billion 174 million 755 thousand dollars.

Most exports to European countries

Germany was the most exported country from Bursa, mostly from the automotive industry. Foreign sales to this country decreased by 3.59 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 153 million 756 thousand dollars.

Among the countries where the province exports most, France ranked second, Spain ranked third, Italy ranked fourth.

Exports to France in January increased 24.74 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and reached 128 million 460 thousand dollars. Foreign sales to Spain increased 10.69 percent from $ 95 million to $ 105.2 million. From Bursa to Italy were made 99.9 million dollars of foreign sales.
