A branch of the Turkish special industrial zone "Gebze" can be established in Uzbekistan. The prospects for cooperation in the establishment of the branch were discussed at a meeting with the Vice President of Turkey Fuatom and the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov in Ankara.

The press services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade delivered that the parties touched upon issues of systemic interaction in the field of transport and freight, the development of cooperation in the framework of technical assistance and soft loans from the Turkish government.

They also examined the issues of accelerating the preparation for signing the Agreement on preferential trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey expanding the list of commodity items proposed for inclusion in this agreement, and also agreed the procedure for its practical application.

“It is expected that these measures will greatly facilitate the fulfillment of the instructions of the Presidents of the two countries to bring trade between Turkey and Uzbekistan to $ 5 billion,” the ministry said in a statement.
