The commissioning of the first nuclear power plant in Turkey, the Akkuyu NPP, will be an important contribution to the country's electricity supply.
According to the Report, this was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his speech in Balikesir province.
"In the coming months, we will launch the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP. With the commissioning of all units, this station will make a very important contribution to the uninterrupted and balanced power supply of our country," the Turkish leader said.
He also noted that a large amount of electricity is generated in the country due to solar energy, wind power projects are being prepared.
The development of hydropower and nuclear energy contributes to the implementation of "green energy". The path that we have passed shows that we are ready to enter the top ten countries in the world for the production of electricity from renewable sources," Erdogan added.
