At the press conference in the Government, Vice Minister of Energy of Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurebekov said that construction of the Saryarka gas pipeline to Nur-Sultan is being completed,  Kazpravda.kz correspondents reports.

“Work is underway on the construction of branch pipelines and five automated gas distribution stations, a gas metering station and a control point. In general, work is proceeding on schedule and in December this year all facilities will be completed. Acceptance of the pipeline is scheduled for December 31, 2019,” Zhurebekov said.

According to him, The project works with 1,700 experts and 1,000 units of special technological equipment. Construction work of 1061.3 km or 100% of the linear part of the gas pipeline were finished and, 963 km or 91% of the gas pipeline were tested. 

He also noted that "In general, the construction of a gas pipeline to Nur-Sultan will allow for the phased supply of 171 settlements along the gas pipeline’s route, as well as improve the environmental condition of the capital and other resolutions."
In conclusion, he noted that the scheme and terms of financing were approved by the state commission for the modernization of the economy in August last year. "The total construction cost of the project is 267.3 billion tenge."
