In 2020, the total sown area of agricultural crops will be 22.5 million hectares. This was announced by the first Vice-Minister of agriculture Aidarbek Saparov during an online briefing in the Central Communications Service, the correspondent of Kazpravda.kz reports.
"In 2020, the total sown area of agricultural crops will be 22.5 million hectares. In accordance with the instructions of the Head of state, work continues in the diversification of acreage and the transition to the production of highly profitable crops," Saparov said. According to him, currently, about 2.5 million tons of seeds have been filled in, which provides full demand for seed material. 1 million tons of seeds have been checked, 95% meet the conditions, 47 thousand tons or 5% were found to be substandard.
"The local budgets of the regions provide 11.3 billion tenge for subsidizing the development of seed production, in addition, 2.5 billion tenge was allocated from the national budget for the purchase of about 29.4 thousand tons of seeds and 838.7 thousand pieces of elite seedlings," the Minister added. Also, according to the first Vice-Minister, the use of fertilizers plays a particularly important role in obtaining a high yield. "For 2020, the local budgets of the regions provide 23.3 billion tenge, which will allow to purchase about 480 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers. At the same time, additional funds in the amount of 2.8 billion tenge were allocated from the Republican budget for the purchase of about 54 thousand tons of fertilizers by farmers," he said.
In conclusion, Saparov said that 31.4 billion tenge is provided for subsidizing pesticides in the local budgets of the regions for 2020, which will allow subsidizing about 15 million liters of pesticides.
"Also, additional budget funds in the amount of 5.6 billion tenge were allocated from the Republican budget for subsidizing pesticides for the purchase of 1.6 million liters by farmers," he concluded.
