Turkish company İskefe Holding plans to invest 27 million dollars for the construction of gelatin production and animal skin processing plant.

The website Kapital.kz included the news of the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture. According to the news, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and İskefe Holding during the visit of Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karaşukeyev to Turkey.

The project implementation period is planned as 2022-2023. The facility is expected to create more than 100 new jobs. The facility will be built and put into operation in the Almaty industrial zone. The skins of local animals will be used as raw materials.

The construction of the facility will begin this year, and it is planned to be commissioned in 2023. It has been noted that the production capacity will be 7.000 tons of gelatin per year.

It is also among the information received that the Turkish company İskefe Holding has 7 tanneries, facilities for the production of gelatin, protein, hydrolysate, liquid amino acids from animals, as well as a research center and test laboratories. At the same time, İskefe Holding is a Turkish manufacturer company integrated into the leather industry. The company supplies 6% of beef gelatin demand in the European, Asian markets and worldwide.
