It is planned to build a solar power plant in Issyk-Kul region with the participation of Kazakh capital. The cost of the project will be $ 300 million. This was announced by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev following a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart, the press service of the head of Kazakhstan reports.

Tokayev also focused on the coordination of relations in the water and energy sector. "We have reaffirmed that transboundary water resources are a common value for us. The problem of water shortage is getting more complicated every year. This forecast is made by reputable international environmental organizations. There will be no increase in water – this is already clear. Therefore, the Central Asian countries need to work together," he said.

Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan is ready to fully fulfill all obligations and jointly implement important projects.

It should be noted that earlier at a meeting with President Sadyr Zhaparov, the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan proposed to study mutually beneficial proposals and form a list of promising investment projects. One of them may be the joint construction of hydropower facilities in Kyrgyzstan, in particular, the Kambar-Ata HPP-1.
