The total harvesting area of agricultural crops in the current year amounted to 23.4 million hectares. This is more by 387.1 thousand hectares than last year. The area of grain harvesting is 16.1 million hectares.
Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev told about this at a government meeting, the correspondent of the Kapital Business Information Center reports.kz with reference to the press service of the department.
"Favorable conditions of the current year made it possible to carry out most of the harvesting campaign without downtime, as a result, to date, 15.4 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops or 96.3% of the total harvesting area have been harvested in the republic. With an average yield of 13.0 c/ha, 20.1 million tons of grain were harvested. It should be noted that in 2021, with an average yield of 9.8 c/ha, 14.9 million tons or 25.9% less were harvested," he said.
He added that the grain of the new crop is characterized by high quality indicators. Of the total volume of wheat delivered to licensed grain receiving enterprises, 85.8% were assigned to classes 1-3.
