It is planned to attract investments worth more than $ 360 million to create a favorable tourist climate on the Kazakh coast of the Caspian Sea. This was stated by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov during a speech at the II and Caspian Economic Forum, Kazinform's own correspondent reports.

In his speech, Alikhan Smailov called on the countries of the region to intensify joint steps in the field of tourism: to take measures to launch combined tours, develop cruise tourism and liberalize visa and migration regimes.

"The Government of Kazakhstan is taking measures to create a favorable tourist climate on the Caspian coast. By 2025, it is planned to implement 15 investment projects worth more than $ 360 million," he said.

The Prime Minister added that the key step for the development of regional tourism was the preparation of an appropriate agreement between the countries of the Caspian Sea basin.

"We propose to intensify work on its early signing," Alikhan Smailov urged.

According to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the issue of ecology also plays an important role in the interaction of the countries of the region.

"The preservation of the ecological balance is the most important task for our countries. The environmental problems of the sea are associated with the depletion of its biological resources, the risks of serious pollution as a result of the extraction of raw materials and the transportation of goods. In this regard, we call on you to support the resumption of the Caspian Environmental Program," Alikhan Smailov stressed.

He also outlined the need to finalize the work on the adoption of a general protocol on cooperation in combating illegal fishing of aquatic biological resources of the Caspian Sea.
