According to the results of the first nine months of this year, Kazakhstan is the leader in food supplies to Uzbekistan, Kazinform's own correspondent reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in January - September 2022, Kazakhstan retained the first place in the list of the main countries supplying food products to Uzbekistan. The share of Kazakh products in the total volume of food imports of Uzbekistan in the specified period amounted to 36.2 percent.
The main demand falls on Kazakh wheat - 1.8 million tons, flour - 280 thousand tons, barley - 73 thousand tons, vegetable oil - 65 thousand tons and potatoes - 49.6 thousand tons.
The top five importers also included Russia – 24% (of total imports), Brazil – 14.7%, Belarus - 4.3%, Pakistan – 2.2%.
Earlier it was reported that more than 95% of flour imports in Uzbekistan account for Kazakh products.
