Kazakhstan is interested in deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the fields of animal husbandry and plant production.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeyev during the visit of the Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic Askarbek Janybekov to Kazakhstan, the correspondent of the Kapital.kz Business Information Center reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, the two states have great prospects for establishing closer economic cooperation in animal husbandry, joint development of production and processing of agricultural products, as well as in the exchange of genetic material and the development of seed trade.
"We are ready to consider the issue of production and sale of seeds of new highly productive varieties and planting material of fruit and berry crops to participants of the seed market of Kyrgyzstan. We also intend to actively develop mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine and phytosanitary, exchange of genetic materials of agricultural plants," Yerbol Karashukeyev added.
The parties are also aimed at increasing the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products. In particular, after Kazakhstan lifted restrictions on the import of agricultural animals, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan is ready to work out the possibility of supplying breeding animals, as well as breeding material to Kyrgyzstan.
It should be noted that the turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan increased by 9% in the first 8 months of 2022 and amounted to $ 159.9 million. Kazakhstan exports mainly eggs, dairy products, flour, pasta, chocolate and confectionery and imports dairy products and soft drinks from Kyrgyzstan.
Minister Askarbek Janybekov visited several farms in Almaty and got acquainted with the production processes.
