On November 15, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a working tour to the "Southern Capital", as part of a traditional ceremony, launched the construction of a plant that in the near future will produce cars of Chinese brands Changan, Chery and Haval. This was reported by the press service of Akorda.

The President was presented with the concept of the project and the layout of the future enterprise, where popular machines will be produced using a small-node layout. According to the plans, the plant will start operating in the fourth quarter of 2024. The production area will occupy over 100 hectares; each of the three brands will have separate workshops for welding and assembly.

In addition, it was noted that with the facility reaching its planned capacity, more than 90 thousand cars a year will be rolled out from here. Investments will amount to about 100 billion tenge. 2,200 people will be able to find work at the plant, which will be built on the basis of the Astana Motors concern.
