Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the launch ceremony of the construction of joint facilities, the press service of Akorda reports.
The heads of State were provided with detailed information on the implementation of joint projects between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In particular, Kazakhstan will launch projects for the production of household appliances in the Karaganda region, infusion solutions in Shymkent and Chevrolet cars in Kostanay.
Uzbekistan provides for the implementation of projects for the production of mineral fertilizers in the Navoi region. The cost of this project is estimated at $ 1.3 billion. It will be implemented with the participation of Kazphosphate LLP, Uzkimesanoat JSC.
At the first stage of the project, in 2022-2024, it is planned to launch the production of potassium nitrate (100,000 tons) and potassium sulfate (100,000 tons) on the basis of Navoiazot JSC. The implementation of the project will create 150 jobs. The second and third stages of production will be continued in Almalyk and Ferghana. It also provides for the construction of a logistics center in the Tashkent region and housing and commercial infrastructure in Tashkent.
