The Allur plant in Kostanay has launched a line of small-unit production (CKD) of Kia cars. The opening ceremony of the conveyor was attended by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by the press service of the leader of Kazakhstan.

Kia Sportage cars will be produced on the new line. Small-scale production includes the assembly of cars, welding and painting work in special workshops. As reported, these production technologies in Central Asia and the CIS are currently available only in Kazakhstan.

"We have just been shown the Kia Sportage model. The quality of this car is very decent. Therefore, I think that the demand will be high. We will invite investors for further expansion of the enterprise," Tokayev said.

It is also reported that the launch of a small-node assembly line for the production of Kia Cerato is planned for 2023.
