The Kazakh authorities plan to build five trade and logistics complexes on the borders with four countries, as well as on the coast of the Caspian Sea, the media reported with reference to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the country.

Five border hubs are planned to be built by 2026.

In particular, an industrial trade and logistics complex (Zhambyl region) will be created on the border with Kyrgyzstan. The international center for industrial cooperation "Central Asia" (Turkestan region) will appear on the border with Uzbekistan, the center for cross–border trade "Eurasia" (West Kazakhstan region) will appear on the border with Russia, the container hub "Caspian Node" will be located in Aktau, the ICBC "Khorgos" will be expanded into a border complex on the border with China"Khorgos knot".

The hubs will provide production cooperation in the field of warehousing, storage, consolidation, processing, production of new goods and their further implementation with effective integration into international commodity distribution systems, as well as the provision of short-term storage services, logistics, rental of retail locations, pre-sale preparation (calibration, sorting, packing, product certification), consolidation and redistribution of goods by wholesale shipments, loading and unloading and development of transcontinental cargo transportation.

"Cross–border hubs will not be only local trade centers, and therefore they will cover the export potential of enterprises and other regions of Kazakhstan," the ministry assured.

In addition, according to the agency's expectations, these centers will reduce the number of participants in the supply chain, reduce the cost of the product for the end user and increase the speed of deliveries.
