Kazakhstan’s automakers produced 19,500 vehicles over January-February 2023, which is 36.8% more than last year, according to the Association of Automobile Business of Kazakhstan (AKAB).
In particular, 10.4 thousand cars worth 130.2 billion tenge were produced in February. Hyundai (7,800 cars), Chevrolet (4,100), Kia (3,800) and JAC (2,500) are the most popular auto brands in Kazakhstan. According to the results of February, the automotive industry accounts for 46.7% of the machine-building industry in Kazakhstan. According to AKAB, in 2023, the car market of Kazakhstan is rapidly expanding, including due to the activation of importers of Chinese brands, while problems with logistics and a shortage of semiconductors are gradually going away into the background. Sales of new cars in Kazakhstan increased 1.7 times in February, to 13.1 thousand units.
