The government of Kazakhstan predicts the growth of car production in the country to 500 thousand units by 2026, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Marat Karabayev said at the auto exhibition in Astana. In 2024, with the corresponding demand, 150 thousand cars will come off the assembly lines of the republic's car assembly enterprises, the minister noted.

"If the market of Kazakhstan is 150 thousand cars, then next year the Kazakh automobile industry will give this volume. That is, the market demand for new cars will be fully covered. There are a number of new projects. Our task is to increase the volume of production to 500 thousand cars by 2026" the state agency "Kazinform" quotes Karabayev's words.

According to the Association of Kazakhstan Automobile Business (AKAB), 113.9 thousand vehicles of all types were produced in the republic in 2022 (an increase of 21.9% compared to 2021). Thus, the Ministry of Industry expects an increase in car assembly production by 4.4 times by 2026.
