Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held talks with Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Economic Forum "European Union - Central Asia" held in Almaty, the press service of the Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The parties discussed the development of trade and logistics infrastructure, attracting investments, cooperation in agriculture and water and energy, as well as a number of others.
"We are taking measures to bring mutual trade to $2 billion in the near future. I am sure that through joint actions we will achieve this goal. The Government of Kazakhstan is ready for an active dialogue in all areas of our multifaceted cooperation," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan said. For his part, Akylbek Zhaparov noted that all issues on the bilateral agenda between the countries are discussed and resolved in the spirit of mutual understanding, trust and mutual support.
"I am sure that our meeting today will give a good opportunity to discuss and determine further prospects for bilateral cooperation," Akylbek Zhaparov said.
