A new trade and logistics center will be built near the Karasu— Ak Tilek checkpoints. Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the creation of an industrial trade and logistics complex. The signing took place within the framework of the Astana International Forum, which is being held in Astana these days.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin and Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev.

As noted, the creation of the complex will contribute to the development of industrial cooperation in the region, strengthen trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, attract new technologies, improve logistics and infrastructure.

It should be added that under the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan signed in 2022, the states will build a joint border industrial, transport and logistics complex. It will be located 30 kilometers from Bishkek in the area of the checkpoint "Ak-Tilek" of the Chui region. The Kazakh part of the industrial trade and logistics complex will be located on the opposite bank of the Chu in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan.

The total area of the complex will be 7.6 sq. km, of which 4 sq. km in Kyrgyzstan and 3.6 sq. km in Kazakhstan. Livestock and plant products will be stored and processed on the territory of the industrial, trade and logistics complex.
