The Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was celebrated at a reception organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ankara.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Sapiyev emphasized the deep roots of relations between the two countries and said: "Brotherly Turkey is the first state in the world to recognize Kazakhstan's independence."

Mentioning the common language, shared culture and history of the two countries, Sapiyev said: "For the bright future and prosperity of our people, relations between the two brotherly states are systematically developing."

Sapiyev noted that cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan has risen to the level of "extended strategic partnership" in a short time: "At present, the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council chaired by our presidents, the Intergovernmental Economic Commission chaired by the prime minister of Kazakhstan and the vice president of the Republic of Turkey, as well as the Joint Strategic Planning Group chaired by the foreign ministers are actively working." 

Emphasizing that cooperation between the two countries at the highest level is also developing at a stable pace, Sapiyev noted that Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart K. Tokayev has made two visits to Turkey this year.

Ambassador Sapiyev said that trade, economic and investment cooperation is one of the priority areas in relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan, and said: "Thanks to the complex of efforts taken by the governments of our countries and their entrepreneurial activity, the volume of mutual trade between our countries increased by 54% in 2022 to reach $6.3 billion."
