From Xi'an (China) to Europe sent a container train on the Trans-Caspian international transport route (TITR). The way passes through Altynkol, Aktau, Baku, Poti, Burgas, Belgrade and further to Hamburg, Duisburg, Budapest. This information is reported by the center of business information Kapital.kz with reference to the press service of the national company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ)”.

“The train of 55 40-foot containers, formed in the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in Xi'an, will deliver cargo to Budapest. The train will cover about 7 thousand kilometers to Baku in 8-11 days. It will reach the final point in Budapest in 25 days,” the company said.

It was also noted that due to cooperation of railroad and port administrations of the member countries TITR reduced the terms of cargo delivery and increased the level of service. For 8 months of the current year transit on TITR increased 20 times, 200 trains passed along the route.

Recall that the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the dry port of Xi'an was built by KTZ in a short time and opened in 2024. Today, 30% of container trains to Europe via Kazakhstan are formed in this dry port, while 40% of the port’s imported cargo comes from Kazakhstan.
