Citizens of Kyrgyzstan can travel without a visa to 63 countries, citizens of Kazakhstan to 76 countries, Tajikistan to 58 countries, Uzbekistan to 59 countries, and citizens of Turkmenistan to 53 countries, according to an index of passports compiled by international consulting company Henley & Partners in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Kyrgyzstan is ranked 78th in the ranking with the African country Ghana. Kazakhstan is in 69th place with Namibia. Tajikistan with such countries as Mauritania, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe is on the 83rd place, Uzbekistan is on the 82nd position, and Turkmenistan on the 88th place with such countries as Chad, Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar.

On October 9, the updated Henley & Partners Passport Index was published, which reflects changes in the visa-free regime of the countries of the world for the fourth quarter of 2018.

Index data showed that the most “mobile” is a passport of Japan. Citizens of Japan can visit 190 countries of the world without a visa. This is a record figure for the entire existence of the Index. Three months ago, Japan shared first place with Singapore, but the Japanese got visa-free access to Myanmar, leaving Singapore in second place (189 countries with visa-free visits). Germany, which recently was the undisputed leader of the Index, ranks 3rd (188 countries). South Korea and France are also in the same position with Germany. The fourth place was shared by Denmark, Italy, Spain, Finland, Sweden.

The Henley & Partners Passport Index, formerly known as the Visa Restrictions Index (renamed in 2018), is an international ranking of countries in terms of freedom of movement that they provide to their citizens. The index has been published since 2006 in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world's largest tourist information base.
