Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia is growing and might reach $2 billion, Deputy PM Zamirbek Askarov said during the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian interrional conference in Bishkek.

 According to him, the Russian Federation supported the Kyrgyz Republic in the difficult period of joining the EAEU by allocating about $ 200 million. The Russian government also allocated $ 500 million to create a Russian-Kyrgyz development fund. Currently, 1,662 projects have been approved for $ 310 million, he added.

He said : “We highly appreciate the duty-free supply of petroleum products, which has a positive effect on the fuel and lubricants market of Kyrgyzstan,”. At the end of 2018, GDP growth was 3.5% with a forecast of 2.8%. The turnover amounted to 6.7 billion dollars. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that 246 new enterprises were opened, targeted support was provided to entrepreneurs, as a result 71 thousand new jobs were created, the national currency rate was steadily maintained.
