Kyrgyzstan's Kumtor gold mine produced 14 tons of 48.8 kilograms (451 thousand 679 ounces) of gold in the first nine months of 2019. Canada-based Kumtor Gold Company, which holds the operating rights of the mine, in the first nine months of 2019, it was announced to the public that the tax and compulsory payments of 10.79 billion Kyrgyz som were transferred to the Kyrgyz state treasury.

According to information received from the 24.kg news site, total gold production volume in the third quarter of 2019 was 4 tons 675.01 kilograms, while this rate was 3 tons 808.47 kilograms in the same period of 2018. In the same period of 2019, 4 tons of 979.3 kilograms of gold were exported, generating 234.4 million dollars in revenue. It is reported that gold production increased in this period due to the excavations in the 18th and 19th regions with high reserves. In the same period of this year, 67 wells were drilled with a total depth of 18 thousand 215 meters and activities are continuing to extend the life of the mine.

From 1997 to 30 September 2019, when production began at the Kumtor mine, the largest gold mine in Central Asia, approximately 12.5 million ounces of gold was produced. Canada-based Kumtor Gold Company, has held the operating rights of Kumor mine since 1997 when production started.
