The Kyzyl-Kiya - Fergana – Kyzyl-Kiya route bus services launched between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

According to Asiatv.kg site, representatives of the Mayor of Kyzyl-Kiya, members of the Kyzyl Kiya city council and representatives of the Fergana region of the Presidency of Uzbekistan attended to the opening ceremony of the new route.

The first passengers of the newly opened bus service were not charged with fare. The price for the route from Kyzyl-Kiya to Fergana is estimated to be 65 Kyrgyzstani som (1 US dollar). Bus service on the Kyzyl-Kiya – Fergana – Kyzyl-Kiya route will be held every day between 09.00, 10.00, 14.00 and 15.00 o’clock from Kyzyl-Kiya bus station.

On 25th of September 2019, bus services were opened on the route between Andijan and Uzbekistan’s Osh cities of Kyrgyzstan and the fare was set at 100 Kyrgyzstani som (1.5 US dollars).

After the events of 2005 in the Andijan province of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan unilaterally closed the border with Kyrgyzstan. After the talks between the presidents and prime ministers of the two sides between 2016 and 2017, it was decided to open the border gates again.
