The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea, Dinara Kemelova, held initial talks with a delegation of the South Korean airline T'Way, led by the President, Mr. Yong Hong Gen in April 2020. This was reported by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea. At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a direct air link Bishkek-Seoul-Bishkek.

Related to the potential of passenger traffic between the Kyrgyz Republic and South Korea, the Kyrgyz Ambassador noted the possibility of connecting the city Bishkek via connected flights with cities in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries. She expressed hope that the time of flights from these countries via Seoul to Manas airport will be reduced.
The airline's President, Mr. Cheng Hong Glen, said that T'Way operates international flights to 50 destinations, including nine cities in Japan. The head of the South Korean airline expressed his intention to start the negotiations with the relevant departments of the Kyrgyz Republic before the end of this year, and launch the flights from the spring of 2021.
They also noted that the opening of direct flights between the Kyrgyz Republic and South Korea will enable the development of tourism and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the countries.
