The transport Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan discussed the expansion of transit between the countries. This was reported in the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties confirmed their support for all existing and potential corridors and routes connecting the landlocked countries of Central Asia with world markets. They noted that the prospect of transit through the countries could amount to about 20 million tons of cargo.

"Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have offered their North-South sea routes through the Caspian Sea to facilitate transit to/from Central Asia and beyond," the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic said. The negotiations discussed further continuation of cooperation to simplify visa procedures for drivers and reduce all relevant transit costs and possible cancellation of traffic permits. As a result, the ministers signed a joint statement on transit development.

There was also a bilateral meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, SE "NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" with representatives of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Agency "Turkmendemirellary", OJSC "Demirellary" and JSC "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan".
