One of the largest recreation areas (resorts) in Central Asia will be built near Bishkek. This was announced today, November 23, during a press conference by Elena Kalashnikova, President of the Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to her, the fund has already received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers and has started implementing two very large projects in Kyrgyzstan. One of them is an international class recreation area near Bishkek.

"The working name of the complex is still "Oru-Sai". It will be an international class resort with 15 km of cable car and more than 50 km of ski slopes. It will be a recreation area for winter and summer sports. It will work year-round. There will be accommodations, meals, swimming pools, hiking, horseback riding, ziplines and so on. This is one of the largest projects in Central Asia, a project of the future," Kalashnikova said.

She noted the international sports complex on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul as the second major project. According to her, it will be a complex for training, not for competitions.

"According to international standards, the center will have stadiums, swimming pools and training halls. There will be no tribunes. But the complex will be combined with a tourist complex. I hope that thanks to him we will be able to develop our sport and create conditions for athletes at the expense of the tourism sector," concluded the head of the fund.
