The authorities of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan intend to increase the trade turnover between the countries to two billion dollars. The heads of the parliaments of the two states met in a narrow circle during the visit of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev to Bishkek.

The parties intend to continue their cooperation in the economic sector. The plans include the creation of an industrial trade and logistics complex. Also during the discussion, the parliamentarians raised issues of the construction of the Cholpon-Ata-Almaty highway and the re-launch of the Kichi-Kapka-Besagash checkpoint, paid attention to the possibility of holding the first interregional forum to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties.

According to Ashimbayev, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have a huge potential for interregional cooperation. He is sure that this direction should be strengthened in order to use it as effectively as possible. According to the head of the Kazakh Parliament, the strengthening of ties between the border regions of the states deserves special attention. The senator has no doubt that the momentum in this direction will have a positive impact on the population of these territories.
