Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have begun construction of a new plant for the assembly and production of cars and commercial vehicles in Ak-Suu village, Chui region.

The ceremony of laying a capsule for the construction of a new plant "Altyn Tulpar Unaa Kurulush" was held in Chui region.

Speaking with a welcoming speech, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Japarov, expressed gratitude to the Presidents of the two states for their great contribution to strengthening the unity of the two fraternal republics.

“Today, friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has reached a new level. Mutual visits are carried out, which are confirmed by agreements on strengthening and expanding multifaceted cooperation between our countries. The proof of this is today's laying of a capsule for the construction of a plant for the assembly and production of passenger cars. This is a strategically important project for both countries,” said Akylbek Japarov.

An agreement to build a plant on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic was reached during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Kyrgyz Republic in January 2023.

At the initial stage, the production capacity of the plant will be 10,000 vehicles per year, and more than 1,000 permanent jobs will be created.
