Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will launch joint production of 12 car models from 2024, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev told reporters.

“Currently, the Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant is being prepared for commissioning. A joint project with UzAvtoSanoat. I think next year it will already reach its designed capacity. Construction and commissioning work is being completed,” he said.

The minister noted that the project is financed by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. An agreement on cooperation on organizing the production of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan was signed on January 27 during the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan. According to the project, it will be implemented in three stages. During the first three years, 10 thousand cars and commercial vehicles will be produced. 500 people will be involved in production. Localization will be 5-10%.

The second stage will include organizing the production of automotive components and increasing capacity to 20 thousand cars and commercial vehicles. Localization will be 15-20%, and the number of jobs will be 1000. Subsequently, production volume will increase to 30 thousand cars and commercial vehicles, and the number of employees at the enterprise will be 2000 people.
