Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan will create a joint working group to develop a roadmap for the implementation of the project to create an industrial trade and logistics complex on the border of both countries. This decision was made at the working meeting of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic with the delegation of Kazakhstan, held on January 12 in Bishkek.

As reported in the Ministry of Economy, during the meeting key issues related to the creation and regulation of the industrial trade and logistics complex in the area of highway checkpoints Ak-Tilek and Kara-Suu were discussed.

Both sides emphasized the importance of this project as a factor contributing to the strengthening of cooperation in the sector of trade and logistics, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for business development and investment attraction.

The agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan on the creation of the ITLC was signed by the parties on June 9, 2023 in Astana. According to the Ministry of Economy, the creation of the complex will contribute to the development of industrial cooperation in the region, strengthening trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, attracting new technologies, as well as improving logistics and infrastructure.
