Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan by the end of 2023 increased by 14.6% and amounted to 1 billion 232 million US dollars, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev told following a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu, who is on a visit to Bishkek.

He said that despite the difficult geopolitical conditions, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have maintained and strengthened trade relations in some areas. “Bilateral trade has shown steady growth in recent years. Thus, at the end of 2023, the volume of mutual trade amounted to 1 billion 232 million US dollars, which is 14.6% more than in the same period in 2022,” he said.

The head of the foreign ministry also noted that, on behalf of the heads of state, sectoral government bodies of the two countries are working to increase trade turnover to 2 billion dollars in the near future.
