An agreement was signed between the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) and the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan on the exploration license for two gold and one wolfram fields in the country.

The delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Mithat Cansız, met with Babur Islamov, the President of the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources in Uzbekistan, to discuss the cooperation issues between the parties.

The parties have agreed to further development of cooperation during the talks, in which the development of relations in the mining area between Uzbekistan and Turkey and Turkey's participation in mining-exploration in Uzbekistan were discussed.

Following the meeting, the MTA and the Uzbekistan Geological and Mineral Resources Committee signed the "geological works on the detection of gold and wolfram deposits in the  Saritau, Hurob and Aydim-Jetimtau areas in the Nevai and Cizzah provinces of Uzbekistan and the implementation of the pilot scale production".

Making a statement to the Turkish press following the signing ceremony, Cansız stated that they signed an agreement on the exploration and its license of two gold and one wolfram field in Uzbekistan and stated that these locations have a very serious potential in mining and natural resources.
