The German Foreign Ministry announced that the European Union is already ready to buy 6 billion cubic meters of Turkmenistan natural gas.

According to the Azerbaijani Azerbaijani news agency Bild newspaper, Germany's interest in Turkmenistan is linked to large gas reserves. Gas is currently a very current issue in the European region, in particular the North Stream 2 pipeline project in the European Union, and a period of assessments about the need to diversify energy imports.

Turkmenistan-Europe Business Forum was held in Berlin. Speaking at the forum with the contributions of the Eastern Committee of Germany (the lobbying of German companies with commercial interests in Eastern Europe), the head of the state-owned Turkmengaz Murat Archayev, Turkmenistan, Galkynysh field with proven gas reserves in the second place, he said.

In his speech to the German businessmen, Turkmen officials said that they are fully prepared to sell the Turkmen gas to the European markets, and that it is only up to the consumers to find interested consumers.
