The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has allocated $ 17 million to Finance urgent purchases of medical equipment and products for new coronavirus clinics being established in Uzbekistan.

This became known during video talks between Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Sardor Umurzakov and President of the IDB, Bandar Hajar- the press service of the Ministry reported.
Bandar Hajar reported that the IDB is willing to provide Uzbekistan with additional support to redirect the bank’s $46 million savings on infrastructure projects to equip new clinics for patients infected with coronavirus.
As a result of the conference, the parties agreed to work out additional funding from the IDB for the needs of the health-care system and support for small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan for a total amount of more than 140 million dollars.
Uzbekistan has been a member of the IDB since September 2003.
