The importance of increasing the volume of trade between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Pakistan was discussed by Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister SardorUmurzakov and adviser of the Pakistan’s Prime Minister on Trade, Textile Industry and Investment Abdul Davud. This was reported by the news resource UzDaily.

The meeting was held in a video conference mode. The participants unanimously noted the need to increase the level of mutual trade, as well as the opening of new cargo routes between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
In addition, the politicians considered the prospects for investment cooperation between the countries in the field of tourism, agriculture, food and textile industries, as well as pharmaceuticals and construction materials.
At the end of the video meeting, the parties agreed to form a joint working group of Deputy Heads of Foreign economic departments of both countries.
Last year, trade between Uzbekistan and Pakistan amounted to $ 92.4 million, which is 2.5 times more than in 2017.
