The Ferghana region of Uzbekistan provided humanitarian aid to the Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic - medical equipment in the amount of 6 million 300 thousand soms (more than $81 thousand).

Humanitarian aid includes protective equipment and diagnostic laboratory equipment, the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The event was held on the basis of negotiations between the Plenipotentiary representative of the government in Batken region Alisher Abdrakhmanov and the head of the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan ShukhratGaniev.

According to Uzbek media, the Uzbek side has transferred 5,000 test systems for COVID-19 and 13 types of medical equipment, as well as funds for the fight against coronavirus to the Kyrgyz Republic.

The administration of the Batken region expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the Ferghana region for their assistance in a difficult situation.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan sent 8 tons of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan to fight the coronavirus. According to the official press service of the government of Kyrgyzstan, humanitarian aid includes mobile oxygen concentrates-50 sets and non – invasive artificial ventilation with consumables – 100 pieces.
