Central Asia Motors will start assembling several models of Chinese electric cars in Ferghana region since December, local media reported. The related news was published on the official website of Nuz.Uz news on 19 October.

The project is estimated at $50 million. Foreign direct investments will make $40 million. $5 million loan will be obtained from a bank. $5 million will be contributed by local entrepreneurs.

The project will be carried out in several stages and will be completed by the end of 2022. The plant will produce up to 10,000 electric cars a year. More than 300 work places will be created.

4 light vehicles and 8 models of commercial transport will be produced in December. In view of insufficiently developed infrastructure and absence of charger stations, all models will be hybrid at the first stage.

Small cars, crossovers and minibuses will be produced at Ferghana mechanical plant.
